Paramount Services has won the Business to Business Franchise System of the Year award at the 29th Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards presented in Auckland on 9 November. It is the ninth time in the last 16 years that Paramount has been named the top Business to Business Franchise System in New Zealand at these awards.
The awards judges described Paramount Services as a forward-thinking business delivering impressive growth. They said Paramount is expanding its services in a well-planned, deliberate manner while ensuring it continues to maintain strong relationships and sustain its current services.
“Paramount presents as a well-run business, with impressive numbers and statistics as evidence of its achievements. There is a strong focus across all attributes of business resulting in exceptional growth of franchisees, sustained customer satisfaction and growth.”
Judges said Paramount showed a clear understanding of the role people, culture and franchisees play in its success, along with systems and processes. “They understand the importance of sustaining franchisee relationships and have strong engagement with all stakeholders.
“They are strategic in their approach and have a robust plan in place to diversify the business, covering marketing and brand, developing the team, process and quality management, innovation and many other key factors.
“The Paramount culture encourages innovation, flexibility and responsibility, with an open and progressive approach exemplified by their co-operative management and ownership practices.
“The franchise team is constantly innovating to find the latest cleaning procedures, eco-friendly organic products, and waste-minimisation procedures to help clients reach their environmental targets and franchisees work smarter and more productively.
“The tight knit support team pride themselves on helping franchisees achieving their personal, business and financial goals.”
Paramount Services CEO Bill Wu says, “We have enabled many people to start with a small franchise and go on to build a business which has paid for their homes, their holidays and their children’s education.”

Danielle works hand in hand with five Paramount Services franchisees operating in Nelson, Marlborough and the West Coast, and also with 215 franchisees nationwide who service her key accounts of Department of Conservation, Goldpine and Sealord.
The judges said: “Danielle is clearly passionate about what she does. Her three spoke model is particularly inspiring. Danielle has a good understanding of customer and franchisee service, as evidenced in the results from the annual customer satisfaction survey.”
Calvin Liao, Business to Business Franchisee of the Year
Calvin started as a Nelson-based Paramount franchisee as a 26-year old in 2021. Today he has 70 full or part time staff servicing 177 sites in Nelson and adjoining districts as far south as Haast on the West Coast 600 kilometres away.
The judges said: “A successful and well-run business, with an owner who takes the time to work on the business and assess future opportunities. It was a bold initiative to diversify into the domestic sector when core operations have been, for the most part, in the commercial arena.”
