Joe and Aroha Thompson
Aroha has spent over 25 years managing some of the most prestigious hotels in New Zealand and Australia including Hayman Island where she personally looked after guests including Mariah Carey and Katie Perry.
Husband Joe’s career spans skippering cruise boats through the Hole in the Rock at Paihia, working for Air New Zealand and Shotover Jet Queenstown to the past 11 years with ambulance services in Auckland, South Australia and Queensland.
When the couple returned to Joe’s home town of Waitara in 2017 to be closer to family they jumped at the chance to join Paramount. They took up the franchise in mid-January and are now managing a team of cleaners looking after 26 sites including commercial offices, bank branches, schools and a medical centre across New Plymouth, Bell Block and Stratford.
Sid Maharaj
Paramount’s other newly appointed franchisee, Sid Maharaj, worked for his father’s Paramount franchise in Auckland for over 10 years. Sid looked after the Navy Museum in Devonport among other clients.
Sid took up his franchise in late November and his team of 10 cleaners are looking after multiple bank branches, a department store and Event Cinema in New Plymouth.
Over the years Sid has gained qualifications for electrical appliance testing, carpet cleaning and vinyl strip and seal which he is now applying in New Plymouth.
